Rigotti Single Bevel Knife
A tried and true knife, the Rigotti single bevel knife is one we have used, in tandem with the ReedDaddy Finesse, on many of our reeds. Beautiful wooden handle and thick blade make for a stable knife that's easy to sharpen and smooth cutting. An industry standard since 1966, you can't go wrong with Rigotti.

ReedDaddy Reed Knives
Made in the USA, these knives have vanadium steel blades for strength and resiliency. Available in two blade thicknesses and three handle configurations, our knives hold an edge well but are still easy to sharpen. The ergonomic thumb and finger rests make fine control easier and more comfortable.
Our guarantee of quality! All ReedDaddy brand knives are guaranteed against manufacturer defects. If you have a problem with any Finesse, Standard, or Standard F, arising from normal usage, we'll be happy to fix or replace your knife.

Our blades come in two thicknesses, light and medium. The ABS-plastic handled "Finesse" has a lighter blade which is very sharp and precise. Although we find no problem with flexing or chattering using either blade, if you have had trouble with chattering with thinner blades, you may be more confident with the wooden handled "Standard", available with or without the finger rests. The blade on the Standard is thicker and provides more stiffness when rough scraping.
The "Finesse"

A light and accurate knife, the Finesse comes with a tough, textured handle, which unlike other knives, has a blade tang to the bottom! The vanadium steel blade is 3.5" long by .75" wide, and 1.5mm thick. This is slightly longer and wider than the average reed knife. The added comfort of the finger rest makes scraping easier and more controlled. We have made up to 35 reeds in a row without sharpening and with consistent quality! A quality knife at a real world price.

The "Standard F"

An elegant, wood handled knife, the "Standard F" has a thicker 2.15mm blade than the Finesse, and also comes with the finger rest, for more comfortable ergonomics. If you've had problems with thinner blades, the extra thickness in the Standard F should help. Another solid value from ReedDaddy!
