Although different players will sound differently on the same reeds, getting a beautiful sound is not possible without a properly made reed. In other words, the best players in the world won't sound good on a lousy reed, they'll just sound better than an average player!

Original Works - soon to be available!
The following are excerpts from original compositions by William Anderson that will be offered for sale in the near future.
"Daydreams" is a three movement piece for solo oboe and piano. Movements 1 and 2 are lyrical, tonal melodies, while movement 2 is an atonal scherzo that is very technically challenging.

The quintet "Dubois Etudes" is a woowind quintet based on three etudes by composer Pierre Max Dubois. Originally unaccompanied solos for oboe, the movements were adapted to woodwind quintet by distributing the melodic material throughout the group. A tonality and character was developed for each movement as well as editing to help the structure and playability. Movement 1 is a scherzo interspersed with laconic, pauses. Movement 2 is an andante melodic feature for the oboe, but gives each instrument a chance in the spotlight, and movement 3 is a triplet filled, humorous dance, with an upbeat ending. A challenging showpiece for the entire group.
